Medicine is in the middle of a massive paradigm shift.
In many ways, we're sicker than we've ever been, despite our best efforts to apply what we consider to be good science and engineering to a complex problem.
The answer cannot be found by rejecting modern medicine, nor can it be found by reductionist approaches that treat us like cogs in a machine.
We are a highly complex, dynamic living system with a multitude of inputs: social, toxicological, neurological, nutritional, genetic, psychological, spiritual, emotional, and microbial.
Twentieth century thinking is woefully inadequate to address the problems we face in the year 2019.
The future is integrative. That's my passion: harnessing the best of all perspectives to get you relief now, but also setting you on a path to deeper healing that can change the course of your entire life.
Are you ready to go deeper?
If you're only looking to treat symptoms, I'm probably not the practitioner for you.
If you're done with superficial-level, palliative treatments that don't address the actual cause of your illness,
If you're ready to go beyond dehumanizing, oversimplified, drive-through medicine, and won't be satisfied with anything less than a root-cause Integral approach,
Then read on.
Or call me now to set up a free 15 minute telephone meet-and-greet so you can get a feel for how I communicate and see if I'm a good fit for you as a practitioner.
MY INTEGRATIVE PERSPECTIVE
I often describe myself as being 'medically bilingual', since the Eastern and Western medical systems are essentially different languages.
I've always had a powerful drive toward fluency in all medical perspectives that makes me a natural translator, a bridge between worlds, a teacher, and a practitioner who can look at any issue from many, many different angles.
I love hard science just as much as I love the mystical, ecologically harmonic qualities of our planet's beautiful history of ancient healing traditions.
I've spent the last decade studying and practicing Oriental Medicine, clinical nutrition, Functional Medicine, acupuncture, herbology, pharmacology, QiGong, psychology, and anything else that falls under the umbrella of 'Integrative Medicine'.
I can approach any health condition using a variety of different lenses, although I draw most heavily on my training in western clinical nutrition, herbology, lifestyle medicine, acupuncture, and biochemistry.

"Matt is not just another practitioner in a sea of hipsters. Matt is one of the kindest, most compassionate souls I've ever met and he brings that level of consciousness to the art of integrative medicine. Because there is often (OK, always) a level of impact to the mind and spirit when there is dysfunction in the body.
Matt addresses that, giving you a deeper and more complete healing experience that you will carry with you long after he has helped you relieve your physical pain and discomfort. But it doesn't stop there. Acupuncture training includes traditional Chinese herbal medicine education, which Matt has definitely mastered, but he is also *highly* conversant in the use of Western supplements and nutrition.
If you're looking for a practitioner who can help you heal your body, calm your mind, and elevate your soul, if you're looking for someone who will really help you heal, then you're looking for Matt."

"Matt has devoted his life to researching and practicing holistic medicine, which makes me very confident in his care. His ability to listen compassionately and read between the lines has helped me discover and address the root causes of my health issues that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. If you are looking for a kind and patient-centered practitioner, it doesn't get any better than Matt."
-Marisa, medical school student
"Matt Dorsey is a born healer and a rigorously dedicated practitioner of his art. He has a devotion to Total Wellness seldom seen in health practitioners today."
"Matt is an extremely knowledgeable herbalist and acupuncturist but most of all Matt is a teacher. He not only counseled me on important supplements and easy dietary changes I needed to make but a clear understanding of WHY. I am really grateful he’s on my team."
"If I ever needed a holistic practitioner to help me discover what is the root of a dis-ease, Matt would definitely be on the top of my list. He has delved deeper and more thoroughly into the healing benefits of food and nutrition than almost anyone that I’ve encountered.
Not only can he reroute the path that you’re on, but he has applied his knowledge for his own wellbeing. That speaks volumes. It has always been disconcerting to go to a health professional who has never figured out that food is your medicine and how beneficial some supplements can be. We are truly blessed to have him in our community."
"Matt helped me get the deep sleep my body needed by suggesting herbal infusions which were just right for my body. Nobody else had been able to help me with that. When the coyotes next door woke me up with their howling, Matt had a remedy for that too."
"Matt is one of the most compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable healthcare providers in acupuncture, herbs, nutrition and supplements that I've been to -- and I've been to many!"
"Matt Dorsey has truly enriched my life through acupuncture sessions and his knowledge of how herbs, vitamins, minerals, and other supplements can benefit several of my own health struggles. He provides individualized treatment that is effective and powerful, and he gives his patients/clients the undivided attention they deserve.
I was able to end my decade-long dependency on sleep aids through his acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture has also helped me learn to manage anxiety and depression, providing substantial and noticeable relief (and release). Ending that struggle has allowed me to move forward with many things in life and feel more whole as a person."
"Matt is a great listener, is very knowledgeable and approaches your health problems from a holistic standpoint. Couldn’t recommend him more!"
"Matt began helping me through a major depressive episode in 2017. During this time, he was compassionate and completely nonjudgmental. He is incredibly knowledgeable about supplements, vitamin & dietary needs, and brings a wealth of information to the table. He offers a well rounded approach that includes practical solutions for healing including breathing techniques and meditation. He saw me through until my episode came to an end, and I have been a loyal client ever since. Thank you Matt!"
"I've known Matt for many years now. We attended graduate school together and worked together in a professional setting for 2 years. Matt is one of the most dedicated learners I've ever encountered. He devotes himself to his studies and is sincerely interested in the science of nutrition and health. I never hesitate to send my patients to him and trust that he will always keep their best interest at heart."
